Position Overview
The Assistant position will involve a significant focus on academic research related to reactive magnetron sputtering of thin layers within the Solid State Sciences department. The role includes participation in the teaching activities and internal/external services of the department. The position is primarily research-focused, with at least 50% of your time dedicated to preparing a doctoral dissertation in this exciting field.
Responsibilities

Research Focus: Perform research on reactive magnetron sputtering for thin layers.

Teaching: Assist in the department’s teaching activities.

Department Services: Participate in internal and external services of the department.

Dissertation: Contribute to the preparation of a doctoral dissertation.
Qualifications & Skills

Academic Background:
-
A Master’s degree in Physics and Astronomy, Engineering Physics, Teaching in Science and Technology (Physics and Astronomy), or a related field.

For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) is required.

Research Interest: Strong interest in application-oriented scientific research in solid-state physics, particularly reactive magnetron sputtering and thin-layer research.

Teaching Experience: Any teaching experience or participation in conferences, extra training, etc., is recommended.

Language Skills:

Fluency in Dutch (both speaking and writing) is required.

Strong teaching and communication skills are essential.
