Accountant I

The Accountant in the Treasurer’s Office performs professional accounting, reconciliation, analysis, and financial reporting functions related to student accounts, receivables, cashiering, and University revenue. The position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial transactions, reconciling accounts and subsidiary systems, researching and resolving discrepancies, preparing accounting entries and reports, and supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The Accountant applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), University and UNC System policies, and established internal controls in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

The position also provides accounting and operational support for student account activities and works collaboratively with campus partners to research and resolve financial issues.
