Scenic Artist

Reporting to the Director of Production, the Scenic Artist supports the realization of each production’s scenic design through skilled painting, surface treatments, and other specialized artistic techniques.

Working on a production-by-production basis, the Scenic Artist interprets and executes the Scenic Designer’s concepts, develops show-specific treatments in collaboration with the design and production teams, and provides professional scenic-art expertise for work beyond the scope of student assignments. The Scenic Artist may work alongside students and shares techniques or guidance but does not supervise them.
