Literacy Intervention Team, LIT Tutor

Have a passion for reading? Earn $11.00 per hour reading with children and making a difference! As a Literacy Intervention Team (LIT) tutor you will be matched to read with elementary age children at local schools who need help improving their basic reading skills.
This is your chance to make an impact in a child's life, earn money, and have fun!

The LIT team, organized by Winthrop University's career center, is a group of Winthrop University students who are mobilized and trained to help children "learn to read", before they have to "read to learn". This team is making a big difference in schools such as Ebenezer Avenue Elementary, Oakdale Elementary and India Hook Elementary. All majors accepted (education majors preferred).
