Postdoctoral Fellow, Forage Weed Science at University of Idaho, Moscow, ID
The Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Idaho invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Weed Science and Forage Systems. The successful candidate will contribute to an interdisciplinary research and extension project evaluating the impact of weed composition and biomass on alfalfa forage yield, forage nutritive value, dairy animal performance, and production economics. This project integrates field research, statistical modeling, stakeholder engagement, and development of decision-support tools for forage producers. The research aims to advance ecological weed management strategies and provide producers with practical information to optimize forage production, livestock performance, and economic returns. The postdoctoral associate will work closely with faculty investigators, graduate students, and collaborators across multiple institutions to conduct field research, analyze agronomic datasets, and develop interactive web-based decision-support tools using R and Shiny applications.
