About the Position
Linköping University invites applications for three PhD positions at the national center for cyber-resilient AI, RESIST. Research areas include:
- Secure AI-supported software development
- Resilient Agentic AI
- End-to-End data and model verification
RESIST is funded by the Swedish Strategic Research Foundation (SSF) and aims to develop cyber-resilient AI solutions for Swedish industry and society. The center offers a stimulating, multidisciplinary international environment where research outcomes are validated in collaboration with industry and public-sector partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality doctoral research in cyber-resilient AI
- Participate in research projects and up to 20% teaching or departmental duties
- Collaborate within CYBER or AIICS divisions at the Department of Computer and Information Science (IDA)
- Engage with national and international research initiatives and real-world industry applications
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent, 240 credits) in computer science or a related field
- Strong foundation in algorithms, programming, mathematics, and computer science
- Knowledge or experience in AI and machine learning is expected; experience in deep learning, generative AI, or cybersecurity is a plus
- Excellent English communication skills; Swedish is a merit
- Enthusiasm for teamwork, scientific curiosity, and independent thinking

- Focused on cybersecurity research, including verification, intrusion detection, AI-based security, and critical infrastructure protection
Employment
- Full-time PhD position, typically four years, extendable up to five years depending on teaching/institutional duties
- Starting date by agreement, preferably September 1, 2026
