Uppsala University is offering a fully funded PhD position in Developmental Psychology at the Department of Psychology. The doctoral candidate will join the Development and Neurodiversity Lab (DiVE), focusing on early child development, autism, ADHD, and neurodevelopmental research.
Research Focus: Early Child Development and Neurodiversity
This PhD position centers on understanding early developmental processes in infants and children, particularly in relation to:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Brain development and behavioral differences
- Genetic and environmental influences on neurodevelopment
The research integrates data from clinical and longitudinal studies, including:
- Project Småsyskon
- Preschool Brain Imaging and Behaviour Project (PIP)
- Babytwins
- iTWIN
These projects aim to improve early diagnosis and individualized support for children with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Methods and Analytical Approaches
The doctoral research includes:
- Quantitative data analysis and advanced statistics
- Behavioral testing and parent interviews
- Eye-tracking and pupillometry
- Neuroimaging techniques
- Twin study methodology
- Developmental and longitudinal data modelling
Strong expertise in statistical modelling, programming, and psychological research methods is essential.

- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Experience in developmental psychology, neurodiversity research, or programming is considered an advantage.
