About the PhD Position
This PhD position is focused on Wireless Audio Streaming in collaboration with the Intelligent Wireless Networking and Audio and Signal Processing teams. The primary objective is to enhance wireless audio streaming technology by minimizing latency and improving robustness across large areas and dynamic environments. You will work with wireless technologies like Bluetooth Low Energy (LE Audio) and Ultra-Wideband.
Job Description
- Research Focus: Wireless audio streaming across large areas and dynamic environments, with emphasis on low-latency and robust transmission. The position includes studying end-to-end systems, such as codec settings and wireless communication aspects, while also exploring new wireless audio use cases.
- Implementation: You will implement solutions on embedded hardware platforms, validating their performance experimentally and via modeling/theoretical assessments.
- Collaboration: You will collaborate with researchers in the IDLab research group and industry partners, presenting your findings at international conferences and publishing in scientific journals.
- Responsibilities:
- Design and implement wireless audio solutions.
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners.
- Publish research findings.
- Assist in educational tasks within the research group.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Academic Requirements: A Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in C and C++ programming.
- Hands-on experience with wireless technologies like Bluetooth Low Energy or Ultra-Wideband (preferred).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Capable of independent work and project management.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken English).
- Team player with the ability to collaborate and meet project deadlines.
Our Offer
- Contract Duration: Initial 12 months, extendable to a maximum of 48 months.
- Salary: 100% of the net salary for an AAP member, based on family status and seniority. The salary is tax-free for doctoral fellowships.
