PhD Programs Offered

GSSI is offering 51 PhD positions for the upcoming academic year in the following areas:

  • Astroparticle Physics (13 positions)

  • Computer Science (12 positions)

  • Regional Science and Economic Geography (12 positions)

  • Mathematics in Natural, Social, and Life Sciences (8 positions for the summer session)

Scholarships and Funding

  • Scholarships: Each position comes with a gross annual scholarship of €16,243.

  • Additional benefits include accommodation in GSSI facilities or a substitute grant, board, and other support services.

  • Funding sources include Italian and EU research funds, such as Horizon-CSA and ERC grants, supporting specific research projects like Particle Astrophysics and Fluid Dynamics in Medicine.

  • 30 May 2025: PhD in Astroparticle Physics and Computer Science.

  • 9 June 2025: PhD in Mathematics in Natural, Social and Life Sciences (first session).

  • 29 August 2025: PhD in Mathematics (project-based scholarships).
