TRIO Upward Bound Program Tutor/Counselor

Under the supervision of the Director of Upward Bound, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

Collaborate and follow instructions as delegated by the Director
Enforce program policies and procedures, carry out disciplinary procedures, and report situations to the Coordinator as necessary
Maintain proper documentation
Assist with administering pre-assessments and post-assessments to the participants
Assist with ensuring that student accommodations as designated by 504/IEP are followed
Assist with creating Individualized Educations Plans for each participant (update on a consistent basis)
Assist with recording and tracking the progress of each participant
Assist instructors with planning or conducting activities
Provide small group or one-on-one tutoring in Mathematics, Science, English, or Spanish
Conduct activities and workshops for the program participants as directed by the Director per the needs of the students
Identify resources for participant use that will ensure academic, personal, and social development
Monitor students in the classroom setting, during meals, and in other settings
Conduct one-on-one or group counseling sessions
Serve as a chaperone for trips/activities
Conduct self in a professional manner and be positive for students
Assist with creating a positive learning environment for students
Attend staff meetings
Complete other assigned tasks or duties
Complete and submit reports and other documents, to include timesheets on the requested date or time.
