Adjunct - Civics, Culture, Workforce Development (Fall 2026 - Summer 2027) at Wright State University-Main Campus, Dayton, OH
WSU’s Center for Civics, Culture, and Workforce Development invites applications for its adjunct instructor pool. Adjunct instructors will begin teaching courses in the Fall 2026 semester.

The Center is seeking adjuncts to teach CCD 1001 – American Civic Literacy. This course fulfills the educational requirements established in The Advance Ohio Education Act (Senate Bill 1), which requires students to read and engage key documents in America’s civic tradition. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for civic education and a commitment to passing along America’s civic tradition to the next generation of university students.

CCD 1001 explores the foundational principles, texts, and ideas that have shaped the American constitutional order and civic life. Through rigorous analysis of historical documents, students will gain a deeper understanding of the values of democracy, liberty, justice, and civic responsibility. The course culminates in a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. Constitution, key historical speeches, and their relevance to contemporary governance and public service.

Opportunities to teach multiple sections of this course may be available. The Center will offer traditional, in-person sections of the course.
