Under general supervision supervises and coordinates activities of law enforcement personnel on an assigned shift or area to ensure the protection, safety, and welfare of students, staff, and visitors and the protection of University property.

Police Officer “Certification Pay”
  • Intermediate $1,200 annually
  • Advanced $2,400 annually
  • Master $4,800 annually
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION AND INCENTIVES:
Tuition reimbursement for up to 6 hours per semester to attend classes at Texas Southern University. Minimum passing grade of “C” and the ability to maintain a GPA of 2.0 is required for reimbursement.

Years of Service:
  • $6,000 – (0-3 years) Total police experience (excluding corrections, armed security, military police)
  • $9,000 – (4-9 years) Total police experience (excluding corrections, armed security, military police)
  • $12,000 – (10 years or more) Total police experience (excluding corrections, armed security, military police)
